We have been working hard this last year to start a Christan coffee house called The Real Rock Cafe. Because we have had such low turnout and support, we have decided to temporarily suspend our Go M.A.D. Concert Series in Fremont Nebraska and concentrate more on the ministries of Word From The Street and Accidental Proffit.
It saddens us to do this, but after much prayer and discussion, my wife and I realized that a ministry like this has taken too much of a toll on us physically and financially to continue on our own.
We are praying that God will encourage others in the community to step up and help with this very important and needed ministry to Fremont.
As soon as God provides us with a building and volunteers needed we will continue the ministry of The Real Rock Cafe.
Thank you for your prayer support as we seek God’s will.
People enjoyed a chicken dinner complete with mashed potatoes and gravy with side orders of corn and baked beans as they patiently waited for the latest installment of The Real Rock Cafe’s Go M.A.D. Concert Series held at Christian Community Fellowship in Fremont, Ne. Saturday, July 10th.
After the dinner Art Wakefield opened the concert with his original mix of blues, rock, and ballads. Many of his songs are predominantly about God and faith and can be downloaded here .
Daniel Christian gave a rousing performance as he switched between piano and guitar with a mix of ballads, pop, and blues; turning his live concert into an intimate gathering of friends. Between songs Daniel showed us his unique wit and humor as he shared stories of his life’s journey.
At the end of the evening we all felt a sense of kinship with Art and Daniel that left us all wanting more. Unfortunately, because we held our Dinner & Concert on the same night as John C. Fremont Days there were less people attending than we would have liked. So we decided to postpone future events until we are able to obtain a more neutral location or possibly a permanent building for The Real Rock Cafe. We will be posting updates as they become available.
We would like to thank the members of Christian Community Fellowship who have shown us such great support. You are truly amazing people.
Our Go M.A.D. Dinner & Concert July 3rd was a great success thanks to Joshua (Preach) Crum and his underground family.
Many thanks to the members of Christian Community Fellowship Church in Fremont who stepped up to volunteer their services to help make the evening event go off without any problems.
Jonah & Accidental Proffit started the evening off with their rendition of Randy Stonehill’s song, Shut De Do.
After their set Jonah drew numbers for the prize drawings and was able to give away several CDs donated by local musicians and a Real Rock Cafe T-Shirt.
Preach finished the evening with a mix of hip-hop and rock songs that the youth attending greatly enjoyed.
Some of the older generation who attended enjoyed watching the young people dance and bob more than they enjoyed the music. At any rate, everyone had a great time of food, music, and fellowship and the opportunity to hear the gospel in a very unique venue.
Saturday, July 10th Christian community Fellowship will again be sponsoring another Dinner & Concert. This time we will feature Daniel Christian with special guest Art Wakefield. Below is more information:
$5.00 suggested donation at the door (children under 12 years old are free)
